We are delighted to host Nicholas Balfe, seasoned restauranteur and owner of Holm in Somerset.

Nicholas Balfe is a restaurateur with over 20 years of hospitality experience. He began as a dishwasher in Harrogate and gained valuable experience at St. John, Moro, River Cottage, and Rochelle Canteen. Working at Brunswick House in Vauxhall with chef Jackson Boxer.

After running Frank's Cafe and working with Isaac McHale and James Lowe on the Young Turks pop-up, he launched his first venture, Salon, in Brixton Market in 2012. Its seasonal, Parisian Bistronomy-inspired set menu earned critical acclaim, leading to the Salon Wine Store (2016), Levan (2018), and Larry's (2020). After closing Salon, he opened Holm in Somerset, where he now lives with his family and has expanded Holm to include seven guest rooms.
